STICKY HONEY GARLIC CHICKEN THIGHS
MAJOR KEY:
1. This recipe assumes you are using bone-in chicken thighs. If you use boneless the cooking time will be less. Overall, you always want chicken to reach 165 degrees and/or have clear liquid come out when you pierce it. In my opinion, bone-in is better flavor.
2.If you rinse your chicken, be sure to pat dry after.
3. If you want a complete Asian vibe, use sesame oil for browning the chicken.
INGREDIENTS
- 8 chicken thighs (bone in or boneless)
- Tastic spice, to taste
For the sauce
- 1/4 cup reduced sodium soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp freshly grated ginger (or paste)
- 2 tbsp Chili sauce, or more for heat
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tsp sesame seeds
DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Prepare a 9×13 baking dish with parchment or foil.
2. Season chicken liberally with Tastic spice.
3. Heat a large skillet over medium high flame with 2 tbsps of oil.
4. Sear chicken for 3-4 minutes per side and until skin is golden and crisped and place on your prepared baking dish (9x13 or bigger). Place in oven to cook. Do not clean the skillet.
5. Cook chicken for 25-30 minutes or until temp has reached 165.
6. Using the same sauce pan you seared the chicken in combine soy sauce, honey, garlic, hoisin sauce, ginger and Sriracha over medium heat until slightly thickened, about 1-2 minutes.
7. When chicken is done. Return to skillet and baste chicken in sauce for a minute to combine.
8. Garnish with green onion, sesame seeds. Spoon addition sauce over top if desired.
