Sloppy Joe Grilled Cheese

1 lb lean ground beef

½ medium onion, diced small

¼ cup green pepper, diced small

2/3 cup ketchup

1 ½ tsps. Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp ground mustard

2 tbsps Tastic Original*

8 slices Texas toast or any hearty bread

½ cup shredded cheddar cheese

½ cup shredded muenster cheese (can be substituted with your favorite cheese)

4 tbsps butter

  1. Add ground beef to a nonstick pan over medium heat.  Using a rubber spatula or wooden spoon, break the beef apart as it cooks. Add in the onion and green pepper.  Cook until beef in no longer pink and onion and pepper is softened.

  2. Add ketchup, dry mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and Tastic.  Stir to combine well and cook over medium low heat for 5 minutes.  Remove from heat.

  3. For each sandwich, spread ¼ cup cheese on top of one slice of bread.  Top with sloppy joe mixture.  Place second piece of bread on top.

  4. Heat griddle or nonstick pan over medium heat.  Add ½ tbsp. butter, let it melt and place sandwich on top.  Cook until bottom is golden, lift sandwich with a spatula, place another ½ tbsp. of butter down, and flip sandwich over.  Cook until cheese is melted.

  5. Pull up a chair and enjoy!
